Mending Shed Privacy Policy

Our privacy policy is very simple. We will never give your name or any of your information to anyone for any reason. We will never sell or give your name to a marketing company. Mendingshed.com does not advertise by email and you will not be placed on any mailing lists. Many businesses like to bother you with emails, mailers and phone calls. We can't stand telemarketers and spam and we would never do that to you. This privacy policy is in place because we respect our customers.

This site is hosted by Yahoo! Store.  Yahoo! hosts the store pages, odering system and order data. Yahoo! automatically collects order information but may only use this information in the aggregate. Shop Before You Purchase

If you have any questions about a product and how it works please call us at 1-800-339-9297 or e-mail us at customerservice@mendingshed.com. We cannot refund shipping charges on items purchased by mistake.

Returns and Concerns

Sometimes mistakes are made. Sometimes an item is damaged in shipping or is defective from the factory. Look over your order and make sure that everything is okay and correct. If something is not right contact us ASAP! All defective or incorrect items must be brought to our attention within 7 days. At this point you will need to contact us for a Return Authorization Number. Orders returned without a Return Authorization Number will not be processed. Once you have obtained an authorization to return materials we must receive those items within 30 days. If the items being returned have not been received within the 30 day limit your authorization will be cancelled.

  • Product is damaged / defective or does not work: Contact us by phone or e-mail and give us the details. We will give you instructions.
  • I've changed my mind and I don't want it:   If it is unopened and in its original condition, we are happy to take it back and refund the price of the product if returned within 30 days from the original order date. Items returned after 30 days will be refunded store credit only. No shipping costs will be refunded.

  • I didn't get what I wanted:  If you pushed the right buttons and we sent the wrong item, contact us and we will take care of it.  If you made the mistake we are still happy to trade you for the correct thing, but you are responsible for the shipping charges.

  • Product I received does not work the way I thought it would:  We offer a satisfaction guarantee on every item we sell. If you are not satisfied with an item please contact us for a Return Authorization Number. Store credit will be issued when the item is returned. You are responsible for all shipping charges.

  • I've opened and bothered, maybe even used it, now I don't want it:  No problem, we will take it back.* Call to obtain a Return Authorization Number. You will be given store credit when we get the item back. No shipping charges will be refunded.
*Personal care products/accessories and electrical replacement parts that have been opened are not returnable as are items marked as "Not Returnable" on the web site.

2009 Holiday Shipping Terms
Due to the large volume of packages that are being shipped during the holiday season your packages may be delayed. In the event that we are unable to ship your order for any reason Mendingshed.com will attempt to contact you by phone and e-mail. Please include your valid phone number and email address when placing your order. Should a representative of the company be unable to contact you Mendingshed.com will not be liable for any delays in the shipment of your order.

Mendingshed.com will not be held responsible for shipping delays due to the parcel carrier. The United States Postal Service does not guarantee any delivery date. UPS does guarantee a delivery date, however it has been modified for the holidays. View the 2009 UPS year-end holiday schedule to determine when your package should arrive. Read the Peak-season guarantees at the bottom of the page.
Should your package be delayed beyond the UPS guaranteed delivery date you will be refunded the difference between the rate of the shipping method chosen and the rate of the actual arrival date (i.e. If Next Day Air is selected by the customer, but the package arrives in two days, then a refund will be issued for the difference as though you selected and paid for 2nd Day Air service). A valid tracking number is required.

Holiday Schedule
Mendingshed.com will be closed on the following days: (Online orders will still be accepted)

Nov. 26 and 27 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
All orders placed after 12 midnight Tuesday Nov. 26 will ship Monday, November 30, 2009.

Dec. 24 & 25 in observance of the Christmas holiday.
All orders placed after 12 midnight, Tuesday, Dec. 22 will not be shipped until Monday Dec. 28, 2009

Dec. 31, 2008 and Jan. 1, 2009 in observance of New Years Celebrations.
All orders placed after 12 midnight Tuesday, Dec. 29 will not be shipped until Monday, Jan. 4, 2009



 Shipping - Costs, Methods and Delivery Schedule

Shipping Costs

Mendingshed.com does add a charge to orders to cover shipping costs. We have worked hard and invested many tiresome hours trying to make these shipping charges as minimal as possible. However, Mendingshed.com does offer a 5% discount on the cost of purchased items on all orders for $55 or more. In order to receive this discount, simply enter the keyword "save5" in the coupon code / promotional code field on the order page. This field is located just below the credit card information fields of the order page. Only orders for $55 or more will receive this discount.

There are some things you can do to make shipping more inexpensive. The most effective way is to choose the proper shipping method for your purchase. USPS Priority Mail is a fast, inexpensive option for any item weighing less than one pound. For heavy items, UPS Ground is the better choice.

To experiment with shipping costs, you can select a shipping method and proceed to the order screen to calculate your total without any obligation to complete the order. You can then click the "back" button on your browser and try a different shipping method to see its cost. You can do this as many times as you like until you find a shipping cost and method that works best for you.

Shipping Methods
        We ship with various methods from The United States Postal Service (USPS) and UPS. Each of these methods are described below.
  • USPS PRIORITY Canada - This shipping option is for shipping to Canada only. We only offer this shipping method for shipping to Canada. The USPS estimates that it will take 6 to 10 business days for delivery.
  • USPS Parcel Post- This is our slowest but often cheapest shipping method. This mail service is not guaranteed to arrive at any specific time. It can take up to 2 - 4 weeks for delivery.


  • USPS Priority Mail- The Postal Service's Priority Mail option is inexpensive for lighter packages and is very fast. Priority packages usually take two to three days and deliver nationwide, including Saturday delivery. Priority Mail shipments are not guaranteed to arrive within a specific timeframe.


  • UPS Ground- UPS Ground is a good shipping method for heavier packages and they have a guaranteed delivery schedule (refer to UPS map below).


  • UPS 3-Day Select- This is an express shipping method that guarantees delivery within three business days (not including Saturdays or Sundays) of shipment. Depending on location, UPS ground may be just as fast (see map below).



Delivery Schedule
        Most orders usually ship within 2-3 business days. Some exceptions may apply. Please contact us with any questions.

        USPS Priority Mail is our bang-for-the-buck champ. You can expect your Priority package in 2-3 days (no Sunday delivery) but Priority Mail is not on a guaranteed time schedule. USPS Parcel Post can be as fast as three days and as long as two weeks and Parcel does not follow a guaranteed time schedule. 3-Day Select is guaranteed to arrive within the specified time (not including Saturdays or Sundays). UPS Ground is also guaranteed and follows a delivery schedule according to the map below (no weekend delivery).

        We accept all major credit and debit cards both online and by phone order.  These cards include Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. 

Payment by Check and Money Order

        We are happy to accept payment by personal check or money order.  Please be aware that all personal checks will be held for 10 business days prior to shipment of the order.  When you are sending a check or money order, you will need to fill out our Mail Order Form
